At the June meeting of Carrick on Shannon Municipal District, I will ask the Senior Engineer what is the up to date position with traffic calming measures at Lisnagot Carrick on Shannon. Last year the Council removed a speed ramp in the vicinity of Cluain Ard and residents have raised concerns for the speed of vehicles in the area since.REPLY FROM THE SENIOR ENGINEER:
The speed ramp in the estate was removed by the developer I understand and not the county council. While this estate has not been taken in charge, once in charge, this council will consider speed ramps in housing estates once we have installed the 30 kph speed limit signs on the estate and we have monitored the speed and this shows there is a speeding problem.
Notice of Motions in the name of Cllr Sinead Guckian
At the June meeting of Carrick on Shannon Municipal District, I will ask the Senior Executive Engineer what is the up to date position with regard to the ongoing investigation into traffic management provisions, in Leitrim Village, at the junction of the Bridge and Church Road and when will the traffic lights at this junction be installed.
REPLY FROM THE DIRECTOR
The installation of new traffic lights are scheduled to commence toward the end of june. These works were postponed in order to avoid causing delays to traffic, particularly those travelling to schools during the exams period.
