May meeting of the full Council of Leitrim County Council
At the May meeting of Leitrim County Council, I will ask for the support of members in calling on the Minister for Health (Acting or in coming)to address the serious concerns surrounding access for all the children of Ireland to the newly proposed National Children’s Hospital, at the St James Site Dublin. While there have been many issues raised over the proposed location on the St. James site, from air pollution, to helicopter landing restrictions, to limited parking, its material contravention of the Dublin City Council Development Plan, to its overall costs, access for parents with sick children who will have to travel from around the country in and out of the hospital by car is the most worrying issue. The location at St James’s Hospital is unsuitable for families living outside of Dublin.
