Protest against the withdrawal of funding for services at St. Patrick’s hospital
Despite the weather, huge turn out for the march in Carrick on Shannon to protest against the withdrawal of funding for services at St. Patrick’s hospital and the nurse-led Day Care Services there also. The Friends of St. Patrick’s Hospital organised this march of solidarity this afternoon.
In recent years patient beds at St. Pats have declined from 112 to 85. That number is shortly to drop to 65. The nurse-led day care services have been removed and the day services facility now only operates on 3 day week.
