Delight to attend at medical devices company, VistaMed’s, officially opened of its new state-of-the-art extension to its manufacturing facility in Carrick on Shannon, with the exciting announcement of 125 new jobs at both its plants in Roscommon and Leitrim.
Minister Richard Bruton performed the official opening and the recruitment for the jobs has started.
The “bus round town” service will operate initially once a week on Thursdays, at three different times in the day, and will take in most areas of the town. It is a joint venture between the Leitrim and Roscommon rural transport groups and is certainly a welcomed new service. I am delighted to see this service in operation as it has been raised by many forums and groups, particular those participating in the Council’s “An Saol Maith” initiative and the more recent “Age Friendly” initiative and action plan.

Leitrim County Council officially welcomed the Canadian Ambassador, Loyola Hearn, this morning with a civic Reception, held in the Council Chamber. The Ambassador outlined a very positive future for Leitrim’s links with Canada.
