Delighted, as Chairperson of Drumsna Comhaltas to present Leitrim Rose Edwina Guckian (Secretary of Drumsna Comhaltas) with an alternative bouquet at Drumsna CCE’s special function for Edwina on Friday night. The “face pillow” was specially made, because Edwina has a busy, tiring time ahead and Drumsna CCE know they wont get to see her very much, with the committments and demands of the Rose of Tralee competition, over the coming weeks. Speaking at the presentation Sinead said “we wanted to give something practical to Edwina to help her in the contest, with the demands of the contest, we know she will be tired and we know we wont get to see as much of her. And we know she will miss us!. So we don’t want Edwina to be tired & we dont want her to be lonely as she heads off on her Rose of Tralee tour. So we came up with the idea of the Face pillow!” The pillowcase has been speically made with pictures of Edwina’s Comhaltas friends, family and proud community printed all over it. “So Edwina can take us with her, we hope the pillow brings her luck and helps make her dreams come true”

Delighted to meet with one of Irelands foremost sculptors, Michael Warren, at the opening of his exhibition “All On That Day” in The Dock, Carrick on Shannon. –“This is a very unique opportunity to view a gathering of Michael’s works and a great achievement by all involved in bringing work by this internationally acclaimed artist to Carrick-on-Shannon in this year of Carrick 400. Edwina, who has always been an active citizen in our Community, was successful at the Regional Finals of the Rose Of Tralee and will now go on to represent Leitrim at the main festival in August. Congratulating Edwinda last night on her success todate Cllr Guckian said that talent is a gift but how you share your talent is a choice and Edwinda has always been so generous in sharing her time and her talent when it comes to all aspects of community life. She will be a tremendous ambassador for Drumsna and for County Leitrim.
