Summer Reading Tree programme

September 24, 2014/in News /by Sinead
Delighted, as Leas Cathoirleach to be invited to present the Certs to all the children who participated in The Summer Reading Tree programme in Mohill library, this evening. This reading programme, that all branch libraries in Leitrim took part in, encouraged children to sign up with their own library card & get reading. For each book the children read, they wrote the title & their names on a leaf to hang on a tree in the library. The children’s overall goal was to read 6 books over the course of the summer and we had such fun this evening getting to make so much noise! in the library!!! in celebration of their achievements.

Thank you for the queries, messages etc. Yes… that new construction site in Drumsna is .. The Playground!!!It is very exciting and the result of a lot of commitment, hard work and fundraising by all the volunteers on Drumsna Development Association (DDA) with the support and backing of Leitrim County Council  (&the Leitrim Dev Company, at its’ proposal phase). While we in DDA still have a small bit of fundraising to undertake to complete the Garden of Remembrance, it is hoped we will be on the swings pretty soon !!!!!The plans also include additional footpaths and lighting in the area and a new pedestrian footpath & lights towards The Grange housing estate.
